Job Summary

The BI Analyst Level 1 is responsible for creating accurate and timely reporting and data analysis for the entirety of our organization. The responsibilities include reporting (SSRS/Power BI), data loading and export (SSIS), data warehousing (SSAS), and ad-hoc analyses using T-SQL on data involving all aspects of the pharmacy industry. The BI Analyst Level 1 will design and implement new data warehouses, data warehouse related ETL processes, and plan application migration to new datasets with minimal supervision or technical oversight. The BI Analyst Leve 1 will have an expert understanding of the data in the pharmacy industry and extensive experience in maintaining robust ETL processes in a production environment.

Essential Job Functions

  • Create and maintain SSRS/Power BI reports
  • Distribute reports for various business segments
  • Ad-hoc analyses via SQL queries as needed
  • Assists in query and procedure development
  • Design, implement, and maintain self-service BI services
  • Train end users in consuming self-service BI services
  • Compile and write documentation of process development following established methods so others can understand the process.
  • Write or contribute to instructions and manuals following documentation standards to guide end
  • Report status, issues, and timelines to management staff and project
  • Follow established guidelines for source code revision control, coding standards, and release
  • Work independently
  • Manage their projects

Additional Responsibilities

  • Perform other duties and projects as required by management.

Minimum Qualifications for Consideration

  • 2+ years experience in data analytics, data science, or SQL programming

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Power BI reporting (drill through, linked reports, sub reports)
  • Advanced TSQL (stored procedure build/support, functions, pivot, views, median’s, cross apply)
  • Data mart design (fact/dimension, tabular, cubes)
  • Tabular model prototyping, Power Pivot
  • Data visualization Power View, Power Map
  • Understanding of Medi-Span and NDC/GPI and pricing methodologies
  • Therapeutic classes, drug status, package size calculations
  • Understanding of NCPDP D.0 and 835 5010
  • File structure, segments and relationships
  • Advanced understanding of Reimbursement methodologies
  • Cost based methodologies as it relates to supply and demand in the market.
  • Understanding of reimbursement methodologies
  • LTC, compounding, CO/B, DME and Medicare cross over
  • DIR fees PLB adjustments
  • Advanced understanding of acquisition cost methodologies
  • Inventory statuses NDC vs LGPI vs PGPI, generic programs
  • AWP purchase discounts

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions

This work is sedentary and requires the following physical activities:

  • Sitting for long periods of time; occasional bending, squatting, kneeling, stooping; good finger dexterity and feeling; frequent repetitive motions; talking, hearing, and visual acuity.
  • Frequent lifting (up to 20 pounds of paper supplies or minor office equipment).
  • Driving to client locations and other sites as needed.
