AlignRx, the nation’s largest independently owned PSAO, has announced Table Rock Pharmacy of Morganton, North Carolina, as the winner of the 2025 AlignRx Pinnacle Award. The annual award honors a community pharmacy that delivers exceptional value to patients, the local community, and the broader healthcare system.
Table Rock Pharmacy was selected for its proactive, solutions-driven approach to improving community health outcomes. As North Carolina’s first pharmacy to be certified as a yellow fever vaccine site—and the first in Burke County to provide long-acting injectable services, A1C testing, and hormonal contraceptive prescribing—the pharmacy has played a crucial role in closing healthcare gaps and expanding access to essential services.
Its commitment was especially evident during Hurricane Helene. Despite widespread power outages, owners Michael Stout and Jessi Stout, PharmD, kept the pharmacy operational. She and her husband transported a generator by wheelbarrow to preserve refrigerated medications and manually recorded payment information to ensure patients could receive their prescriptions. Stout also issued temporary scripts for patients whose providers were unable to operate. In addition, the pharmacy team coordinated with local physicians and volunteers to supply emergency medications to those in need. Their efforts included donating medicines and partnering with pharmacies across North Carolina to transport them to inaccessible areas through Operation Streamline.
“Table Rock Pharmacy represents the best of independent pharmacy,” said Melanie Maxwell, AlignRx President. “Their commitment to patient care, innovation, and service—especially during Hurricane Helene—makes them truly deserving of the Pinnacle Award.”
“It’s an honor to be recognized with the AlignRx Pinnacle Award. There are countless pharmacies doing incredible work nationwide, which makes this recognition especially meaningful,” said Stout. “What I value most is that this award reflects the strength of our entire team. Every person here brings dedication, heart, and a commitment to serving our community. Their willingness to step up, support one another, and consistently go the extra mile is what makes this achievement possible.” Stout is the cofounder of the Patient Health Access Coalition; an active member of the North Carolina Association of Pharmacists (NCAP) and the National Community Pharmacists Association National Legislative Committee; and a CPESN Luminary. Her recent honors include the 2024 NCAP Community Care Pharmacist of the Year, 2024 President’s Service Award, 2025 Don Blanton Award, and the 2025 Cardinal Health Pharmacist of the Year Award.
